Nowadays, the risk of diabetes is increasing among the youth, the major reasons being childhood obesity and sedentary lifestyle. In this regard, Indian news channel NDTV has given eight reasons for the increased risk of diabetes in the youth, know what they are.

Slow lifestyle 

Due to less physical activity and more time spent in front of the screen, the risk of diabetes is increasing in the youth. Adolescents should adopt a healthy and active lifestyle and exercise regularly. 

Poor diet 

Calorie-rich market foods and sugary foods increase the risk of diabetes. To avoid this disease, eat protein-rich food, fruits, vegetables and nutritious foods and avoid market food and sugary foods.

obesity 

Being overweight is a major cause of diabetes, but maintaining a healthy weight with a balanced diet and regular exercise can prevent the disease. 

Family illness
 
A family history of diabetes can predispose young people to the disease. Family medical history should be looked at to know the cause of this disease, however genetic factors cannot be changed but the risk of this disease can be reduced with a healthy lifestyle.

Lack of sleep

Lack of sleep in youth can also cause diabetes. To avoid this disease, focus on good sleep and prioritize improving the quality of sleep.

Mental stress 
Complex stress increases the risk of developing diabetes in adulthood. To avoid diabetes, adopt a balanced lifestyle, create a calm environment and make proper arrangements to reduce stress. 

Pregnancy problems

 Obesity in women during pregnancy or gestational diabetes increases the risk of diabetes in young people. Adopting a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy can reduce the risk of diabetes in young women.

High blood pressure 

High blood pressure can also increase the risk of diabetes. Blood pressure should be checked regularly for this problem. A healthy lifestyle and regular blood pressure checks can reduce the risk of diabetes.
